24/06/08 - Solihull B (8) vs (13) Warwick A by Jonathan Fleet

Warwick had to travel to Solihull on Tuesday to get back to winning ways in the Midland League. Warwick started well, Kirk Holland winning the first swim. After a couple of attacks from both sides, Warwick opened the scoring via Adam Streeter.

Scott Haystead and Matt Wardle added goals before the end of the quarter.

In the second quarter Kirk Holland was excluded, allowing Solihull to score. Seconds later Solihull had a player excluded and Lee Jeys scored for Warwick. Wardle scored before Jeys got his brace, however Solihull scored three more of their own, leaving Warwick 6-4 up at half time.

Warwick put their foot down in the third quarter, the scoring was started by Wardle before Warwick conceded two penalties in close succession, but Karl Wedgwood in the Warwick goal saved them both. Two more goals from Wardle and one each from Mark Baxter and Adam Streeter put Warwick in command of the game. Solihull managed one goal late in the quarter, but were trailing by 6 goals going into the final quarter.

Solihull scored three early on in the final quarter, before coach Jonathan Fleet called a Time Out to get the team back on track. Warwick had the last word with a brace from Scott Haystead finishing the game, a good win for Warwick 13 – 8.
