09/03/09 - Camp Hill A (6) vs Warwick A (8) by Jonathan Fleet

The A team traveled to Camp Hill Edwardians on Monday night, missing several key players due to injury and work commitments. With a depleted squad it was important to make sure the game was kept tight, and that that the game did not get too stretched out.

The game started with both teams failing with their first few attacks, Camp Hill broke the deadlock after 2 minutes, but just over 2 minutes later Jack Woodland replied with a perfectly weighted lob. After the restart Warwick failed to cut out the pass to the Camp Hill centre forward and conceded again. With 15 seconds of the quarter to go Jack Woodland left the Camp Hill keeper stranded for a second time with a lob leaving the game at 2-2.

Warwick defended an early exclusion in the second quarter, but could not defend a second and Camp Hill went ahead again. Warwick forced an exclusion 2 minutes later which Jack Woodland used to power in a shot completing his hat-trick. Another goal from Camp Hill was followed after the restart by a break down the left by Duncan Holland, and a push-shot over the Camp Hill keeper.

The second half started with honours even (4-4) , but 90 seconds in Woodland found himself one on one with the Camp Hill keeper again too far off his line, another perfect lob and Warwick were in front for the first time. 2 further goals by Matt Wardle and Lee Jeys put Warwick 3 up before Camp Hill pulled one back.

Warwick slowed the pace in the last quarter, a goal from Mark Baxter and one from Camp Hill gave Warwick a good victory with the final score 6-8.
